Joyce Aultman, LPC

Hi! My name is Joyce Aultman. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My career started in nursing at the age of 19.  I furthered my education obtaining my BSN and later a Master’s in Education with emphasis in Nurse Anesthesia. I spent many years as a nurse anesthetist until retiring in 2018. When my kids were in high school, I felt led to become a counselor.  And here I am, a therapist since 2017.  Since that time I have learned so much about myself …I am an emotional being! I cry when I am happy, sad, mad, or even excited. I love fiercely and stand up for my values.  When becoming a therapist, I learned the very skills I will teach you.  Skills for emotional regulation and assertive communication, how to set healthy boundaries and ask for what you want are just a few. Over thinker? I can be too! I have learned the usefulness of mindfulness to help us have more control over our thoughts.

Allow me to assist you in your journey to become the best version of yourself.  Together, we can explore the uniqueness of you and possible changes to assist you in reaching your goal. I provide counseling with compassion and integrity in a nonjudgmental manner. I enjoy teaching and find it rewarding when I see “that lightbulb or aha moment” as my clients progress.

I have an eclectic approach with use of Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and trauma focused CBT.
I look forward to meeting you! What are you waiting for? We have work to do!! I will be with you.
